On Friday, 15 August, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, attended the opening of the exhibition for the visually impaired "To Touch and See" in Simferopol (Crimean Autonomous Republic).

He stated that the issues concerning visually impaired failed to be settled at the necessary level. According to A.Yatseniuk, approximately 8,5 thousand visually impaired people live in Crimea. The exhibition is aimed for such people.

Dwelling upon the goal of the exhibition, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine underscored: "We would like the visually impaired to feel that we regard them as respectable members of the society, as they see and feel sometimes more than people capable of seeing".

According to A.Yatseniuk, last month the Fund "Open Ukraine" presented a bus to the sanatorium of the Ukrainian Association of the Blind in Yevpatoria.

He appealed to everybody with a request "to undertake a small section, a single case, and carry it to its conclusion, to work for the sake of every single person". "You will feel that it becomes easier to live", - stated A.Yatseniuk.

As it was earlier reported, today the tactile exhibition was for the first time opened in Simferopol. The exhibition is organized by the Fund "Open Ukraine", and shown at the Crimean Academic Ukrainian Musical Theatre. The exhibition includes the photos of photographer Yuriy Bilak "The Ukrainians". Formerly, the exhibition that renders the opportunity for the visually impaired "to see" and hear the description of the photos, was shown in Kyiv, Lviv and Bucharest.
